With Network Magic, a supported computer uses Microsoft Windows 98 SE or later.

When you use Network Magic to turn on Windows File and Printer Sharing with Windows XP or Windows 2000, you also enable the Windows Guest account. Note that after you do this, Network Magic does not require that users log on to Windows as guests.

 

To make it easier for everyone in your home to share, Network Magic uses the Windows Guest account.

However, you should be aware that while using this Windows account adds broader access to shared folders, your network is less secure.

In Windows, this built-in account provides access to the computer for a user who does not have an account on the computer.

This is why when you use Windows File and Printer Sharing, it is even more important that you take steps to make your network more secure.
